BE Pink

In my opinion, the most powerful moment in the BARBIE movie was when America Ferrera gave her monologue. It was poignant, well-delivered, and truly the message that put the exclamation point on the story's narrative. If you haven't heard the monologue yet, you can read it below. Being a woman is hard- we all know that, and her words really put meaning behind our plight.

But, for me watching the movie was about 50% that monologue's message and 50% pure delight. I remembered how much I loved playing with my Barbies and how much I loved the color pink, Hot pink was my favorite color for years until I got old enough to think it was no longer cool. {BTW- I'd like to add that to the list of regrets I discussed in Be Inspired this month -haha.} Why? Because pink is SO beautiful! It's such a happy color. It represents positivity and empowerment. And, unlike the doll, pink isn't just for little girls. It's for anyone, including me, that wants to make it her favorite color again!

Luckily, the BARBIE movie has helped to make the color pink very trendy this year for clothing and just about everything else. So, why not incorporate a little pink positivity into your life? It may make you feel powerful, beautiful, and happy just like me.
